Setting the pace for quality education

Sustainable Development Goal 4 looks at quality Education: that is Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. Achieving inclusive and equitable quality education for all will require increasing efforts, especially in sub-Saharan Africa for vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities, indigenous people, refugee children and poor children in rural areas.
Our focus as organization for the past year has been to provide basic material support and counseling services to rural girls. With support from our Beloved partners and friends in the USA and all over the world. In January, 2018, ASIGE undertook sanitary pad program across deprived schools in Bongo and Bolgatanga Municipal. we touched the lives of over 2000 adolescent boys and girls. We discussed issues related menstrual hygiene, menstruation, sexuality and the need provide the girl child basic necessities. one disturbing factor that came up was that most of the girls either absent themselves from school during their menstruation period or they were using unhygienic rags. and therefore their education is suffering. Should menstruation hinder the education of our future mothers, wives and leaders from fulfilling their dreams? What is society doing to support the girl child?. We are using this opportunity to appeal to all stakeholders to assist us in providing quality, inclusive and learning opportunities for rural girls in Ghana.
