Breaking The Poverty Barrier Through Basketry
It’s been a bright start to the year for the weavers of ASIGE Ghana baskets. For the month of January 2020,we have exceeded the UN criteria of poverty rate of 1.25 a day,
Ghana’s rate of 0.73USD a day and a little under world Bank Criteria of 1.90USD a day. We are currently doing 1.70 USD a day per woman at the group.
The average monthly earnings for these rural women is 51 USD. A purchase of ASIGE baskets that comes in various styles and shape for both in door and out door events do not provide sustainable employment and income to rural women in Africa but saves the planet of rubbers waste.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without you our customers. We are particularly grateful to UK, Japan, EU and USA customers and to you all over the world. A purchase of a single baskets is changing lives and taking women out of extreme poverty
