Multi Dimensional Approach to Poverty Eradication

Poverty has been a canker which has destroyed many societies especially Africa in Particular.
It ruined a lot of people from a fulfilled life.  Words cannot describe the effects of poverty on an individual’s life unless one is in it. In this context, Advocacy for social Inclusion and Girls Education seeks to tackle this problem in three districts of upper east region of Ghana through a multi dimensional approach.
We must educate our youth, women should be empowered and men giving a source of livelihood.  In 2014, ASIGE decided to develop a modernize farming system where each household in our operation zone will plant at least one economic tree such as Mango or cashew.  The resultant effect is that, we will have at least 3000 new trees in 10 years time. Firstly, we are contributing to reduction in desertification and giving additional income to farmers.  The picture you see is our pilot farm of economic trees that have started fruiting after 24 months.  Not only that we will generate pure honey from the flowering of the trees annually for sales. We at ASIGE believe that there is no poverty in this world except in our minds as humans especially we in Africa. If the right investment is made then the world will be a better place to live.
